I haven't tested the range of the new module. Also, with an expected range of 140 feet, there really is no reason to try and add to the antenna.

Fair enough! 140 feet is a pretty impressive range for sure.

James.... :-)

Yeah, watched the video on youtube, very impressive on the range you got. Reality is, when are you going to get that far from your radio anyways :hmmm: :nonono:

YEah, exactly never.

Just over the weekend my brother has one of the JBL flashy light vertical bullet Bluetooth things. It sounds like ass. Not only that, he walked into the next room and the signal starting cutting out already!!!

I'm like 'dude, wtf is the BT cutting out?' - he said, 'yeah, my phone's in my pocket it's losing signal'. I laughed my ass off!!! I said you have to be kidding right?!?!?!

Unreal, $200 for this JBL thing and you can't even be in the next room!!!!!!!

I told him about my 140' range vintage BT blaster and his jaw dropped. hahahaha

Thanks bro.

The only thing I don't like with the 2nd BT module is it has a louder high pitch wine when BT is on. Trick is to keep the mp3 player up and keep the boombox volume set lower. You don't notice it for the most part but inbetween songs you can notice.

So awesome that this new BT module showed up already. Even better that this one is in a hard plastic case so I was able to open it and check out the goodies!!!!

It looks like the BT module chip is piggy-backed to the voltage regulator board so you can pump 12v into it direct instead of the 3v-5v the module needs.

Just did a range test on BT #2 and I'm not pleased with it. It does get full range anywhere in the house, so thats good. I did the test outside and it only gets about 65 feet unubstructed. Sad part is if you are 20 feet away and you put your hand between the ipod and boombox the signal cuts in/out outside but is ok inside.

The quality of the case and total product seemed better than BT #1, but BT #2 has a high pitch feedback, less range, and less reliability. Is it still ok, yeah it is about average for normal BT devices but with a nice amplified audio input. Maybe the antenna could be added onto.

We will see how BT #3 performs soon.

Thanks riker - yep it has been on epay. Much lower reserve ($275) because it had to have some cracks fixed and repainted. Overall it is pretty nice.

But if I bought a box on e bay and opened it to see these repairs with no mention that the box had
cracks and repainting
I would not be happy
I recommend you mention this in your description to the potential buyers otherwise there may be some trouble
I don't know why you think I am dishonest? You called me out over on S2G assuming what you want, come on man why are you bustin my balls? I don't want to get into a pissing match with you, get the facts first and if you have anything you want to talk about, you know where to find me.

Read the auction yourself:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251920946962?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Condition overview (see pictures):
- some scratches and wear
- straightened and repainted grills
- minor front case cracks fixed
- front case repainted to cover repairs
- speaker cones cleaned
- antennas are present both missing the tip
- all plexi is in pretty good condition and clear
- chrome has some pitting handle ends
- chrome speaker rings and side knobs need to be polished
- battery door is present but could use new foam
- nothing else is missing and all knobs/switches are present

Function overview:
- radio receives clear AM/FM in stereo and from what I can tell the SW stations work as well
- cassette has brand new drive belt, plays/ff/rw AND the music search works! (record untested)
- RCA line-in jack works great with the proper cord plugged in if you don't have Bluetooth but want to play music from MP3/CD/External device
- RCA line-out jack works great for tethering another stereo system with the proper cord
- Bluetooth system works great, nice long range, and no signal volume is lost like most external Bluetooth devices
- there is a mild high pitch feedback sound when your ipod is at a low volume and the boombox is turned up with the BT turned on. For best results the ipod should be at full volume and the boombox volume as low as possible. You don't notice it while music is playing, maybe unplugging the blue LED's would help.
- all slide controls and switches are working as intended
- sound is clear and even through both speakers

I read again and and edited my post but you want to go on
i am not saying you are dishonest
I missed the small print at first
- minor front case cracks fixed
seems to be an understatement to me
I am just thinking it seems a very high price for a box in that condition
But as you say you have yourself covered in the conditions
On stereo2go i wanted to make a point that i thought you understood
not everything is a personal attack

I understand that we were able to get an understanding between you and I over on S2G.

You came here, assuming I am lying about repairs and painting and I quoted your original post (that now you edited and try to weasel out of) so I could reply with all the facts.

Now that you edited your post, you think that I want to go on and on about your comment???? You crack me up!

People pay what they want for a boombox on ebay, if you think it is a high price who cares? They are bidding for more than I even wanted, how is that my fault???? This is turning into a joke. I bought some M70's ONLY to put a Bluetooth module in them to test and get rid of. I didn't want to risk any of my mint M70 boxes just in case if something shorted out or if there were irreversible problems from a BT module. This way if something happened I could just scrap out the M70s with no problem and all of my nice ones were safe and sound.

I suggest maybe you stay away from my posts since you seem to nit-pick them trying to find fault.

Good day.

EDIT:
nikonfoo, I know you are a good guy. You are a contributer to the boombox community with parts/blasters and advice. Lets just get along. Can you do that with me, or no?

Please lets restart ?
My original post was more worry than anything
I sometimes get worried about stuff i put up when it goes above what i thought it was worth

maybe that they misunderstand did i show all the problems well enough in the photos
or can they read english even really i get a lot of foreign customers and then its all foreign language messages
all the way im like googling translations
im not sure how much they understand even
It was not meant to be an attack
then i re-read it and saw you had informed that it was repaired and i edited the post
it was not a weasel out
Unfortunately not before you had seen it

i also see how much you are doing in this community for a lot longer than me too
I know if you were not honest you would not still be here
Good night

Nikonfoo, yeah man - we can start over. I'm a forgive and forget kind of guy.

I'm happy that we can work it out. Have a good night.

I too don't think it is worth a lot. The buyers LOVE leds in old boomboxes and that combined with internal Bluetooth, they are willing to spend some more even if the boombox had case repairs and repainted. If they are happy, I'm happy.

The other BT M70 I sold that person became a member here just a few weeks ago. And the regular M70 I sold about a year ago that buyer is a member here too.

Had to get back into the cassette mech and stretch the belt and relax it a bit. Deck wanted to keep auto stopping after belt replacement. Lubed up the flywheel shaft at the tension plate.

Also tried out neverdull polish on the speaker ring. Turned out decent. Some more time and effort they could really shine.
