If those switches you buy work well, be sure to let us know what kind they are. I'm near ready to have the courage myself to tear into my M70 and do this. I'm pretty sure I can seeing how easy you make it look.

Thanks CPL!

First BT M70 just sold on epay, so off to a new owner it goes probably tomorrow.

As nice as the front of the case is I still decided I will need to paint pretty much the entire thing. Depending on how good my color match paint is, I might only have to spray the sides of the case. I have to pick up my color match M70 paint. Hopefully painting the case tonight.

I added this sticker to the M70 that sold yesterday:

And here she is sitting with her bro's before being shipped out today:

The one on the far right is BT M70 #1.

I picked up my paint for BT M70 #2 and the paint meter matched M70 silver to 1D7 Toyota Silver Shadow Pearl.

The Toyota silver shadow pearl paint is pretty nice. I guess it's the closest thing I will be able to get and if the color meter tells me that the M70 is Toyota silver, then that's how it is. LOL. It is a little brighter finish and has more metallic. Maybe I will try to rub down the box with crumpled up paper to dull it down a little.

Pearl is a hard paint to work with. You would need a good primer base coat and lightly scuff that before painting. The pearl makes any scratch or defect look worse unless you put 5 coats of paint on, then it starts to fill in the imperfections and lay nice.

3rd BT module showed up today. Really great looking part and a couple different ways to hook it up. RCA input jacks, 3.5mm input jack, raw wire 12v + ground, and round power supply port.

I think the only downfall I can see right now is the bigger size, but it looks like it is built with better care and detail.

Aaaaand I finished BT M70 #2 tonight.

A lot of work went into this M70 to save it from the dump and it turned out good enough.

The feature I like about this one is I wired blue LEDs to the BT switch.

I'll do more tests in the next few days and give a review.

Here is how she sits:

Man that PAINT  She looks fantastic, dare I say better than most originals. That site you got that module has great prices! You're right, that thing is beefy, shouldn't be an issue with space with most boxes. Having connectors always makes things handier.

Thanks a lot man, the new paint looks so 'sheen' shiney and clean.

It doesn't match the original M70 silver but is isn't that bad.

Even this beat down turd turned out pretty good.

Thank you.

I picked up some nevrdull to shine the chrome speaker rings.
Yeah, now that the paint is 'pimp', the rings need attention to finish it off.... I saw some scuffs & such in the pics. Too bad you don't have some minty rings for replacement. You have tons of parts, I know...

The strap clips I got from you work awesome on the M90 & it can carry the king Ghidorah around, no sweat at all...

I have to find someone who can airbrush cool looking Japanese hieroglyphs for the words 'king Ghidorah' on the grills as a final touch....BAM!!

Nice use of the LED strip eh? Kind of cool you can just hook up whatever color you want of the 3, red, green or blue to a 12v line & done! No goofy resistor series circuits to sort out. just 1 connection & super brite LEDs
