I just joined. I have a GE 3-5286A boombox that I bought in 1981 and it's been sitting on a shelf in the basement for the last 30 years. Just plugged in it the other day and it's not working, There is a flicker of the lights as I try to turn it on. Ill start checking some of the posts to see if they can help me out.
Bangin My Lanico 999! Funny but Word on the street says It's a Lasonic knockoff yet same company? builds just wiring lot more cleaner and Some cosmetic features. Is this True?
Today this cheapo.. got it from neighbour emptying basment. I cleaned all electronic switches and outside. I hate that dual volume pushers.. almost imposibile to balance them and tape player is working a bit to fast but that is easy to fix.
This Fisher is aka Sanyo.
I have similar model. After some upgrade work perfect.
Here is a short demo video with cassette, radio and mp3 module playback:
Local find, 10 min., so had to get it. Looks cool. Dual LEDs, tuning meter, line in, wide, recessed antanae, Big dust caps, AND crash bars! It's a Mega Tech rc1100. Any aka info or opinion would be appreciated.
I used many times MIC MIX on my boomboxes without problems.
Usually the sound is mono, but from 2 speakers.
All depends on the right sound balance:
1. turn off (or flat) graphic equalizer on mp3 player - bass and treble should be minimum.
2. the sound level of the mp3 player should be around 30%.
3. the mic mixing volume should be around 30%.
4. also adjust the graphic equalizer on boombox.
