If you are recording through the built in mics, you can depress editor switch and hold down to stop tape /record. It doesn't stay down when you lift off it goes back to recording . Also if you hook up multiple audio inputs in the back like a turntable or another cassette , the editor function makes it easier to make a mix tape. The editor function is more accurate than stopping tape.
Wow! Another reason to want a BomBeat 40: precision pause-taping!

Go!

I can think of many, many reasons to want one of these shiny things but funnily enough, the edit button isn't one of those reasons. Why? I hear someone aksing. Because there are several Sharps GF-*_* that have edit buttons too, I especially enjoy the one on my GF-9090 as its motor is a little weak and no longer has the torque to start the recording straight up at the correct speed, so it provides an unintentional yet wonderful special effect where it decides quite randomly how quickly the tape accelerates back up to its full speed meaning that, in the finished mix when played back, the new track that is being faded in starts faster and gradually settles to its correct speed, ideal for seguéing Slade's "Far far away" into Big Country's much-loved "Fields of fire" but would work when you want to cross fade from any track to another where the first has the same time signature as the second but the first has a faster tempo.

Yeah, I know, I should get out more....

Does anyone remember this little diamond?
(If no you can find it on page 16 !)

Well i managed to find the time to take some
pics as i promised , with the led bulbs !!
icon_smile.gif

It took me 2 months but as they say
better late than never.
Meanwhile i found another one and
from mono it went to Stereo !!!

I had to resize the jpgs and make a gif.
Thats my first try in making a gif
(with a tripod it would look better i know)
but hey its my first gif !

Looks like a mono disco bbox now !!

I just love it.

Now those are very strange radios. I have never seen those before. What is the light for? Does it change colors in a cycle? Is it meant to be a disco light? or is it a flash light?

Cool design none the less.

Although i dont know if i m right i guess i would agree with Reli ,
it kind of looks like its main use is for camping purposes :-)
The gif image effect is produced because i used different couloured
leds each time i took a pic !

Just spotted this monster in the ads.
It is in horrible state, blurry pic prevents manufacturer or brand id.
Looks enormous. Not appealing at all, but perhaps it looked nice when it was new.

The Lanico story has not been told. I would like to know how many different boxes they made and what years. An obvious Rip off of Lasonic, while Lasonic was a Rip Off (at least in name Los Angeles X Panasonic = LaSonic) of the boomboxes of the 80's. But Lasonic went on to come up with a design that was VERY LASONIC (thinking 931/975/i931)
