Love your MR-V9!! I have the 7950 version and it’s great! I know that Fisher made a rebadge of it in gold! I lost the auction for it years ago, but it has great build quality and sound:)!

jameswp67, I don't know that Fisher made a clone of this Sanyo.
Looks good in gold. Here is pic from Stereo2Go forum:

Hello.
I'm thinking of reminding you of some boomboxes that were part of my collection, but I later sold or exchanged for others :breakdance:

This is one of my first boomboxes - ACIKO ARC 116

Aciko-ARC-116-02.jpg

I buy it new in 1989 and use it for 20 years.
I decide to sold it before 5-6 years, because I buy others boomboxes and don't have free space in my house.
There is so many aka:
Elta 6870
Clairtone, Geloso - model ???
Basel Compo TSR 4115 - without clock
Elite Electronic, Watson RR 5585 - without clock and tape counter
Audioton, Condor, General Sond GS-290 - with one cassette and TV, without clock

Here is video with similar boombox: Lamblessed - Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio (Ramones)

In the summer of 2017 I found this simple box - JVC RC-BX330

JVC-RC-BX330.jpg

After little restoration boombox work wery good.
One year later I changed this JVC for Sanyo C30 with some problems.
I restored this Sanyo and add mp3 module for more new features: Sanyo C30

JVC M70 is another boombox that is no longer part of my collection. I bought it in the summer of 2012.
JVC had problems with the sound potentiometer, needed new belts. There were also cosmetic remarks.

I restored it and put additional LED lighting on it. JVC M70 restoration

I used it for about a month, but then sold it on eBay. I know there are many fans of this model, but I did not become one of them.

Radio raheem

Requiem Æternam
i think people who like the m70 are tone deaf or sound quality doesn't matter to them lol.....back in the day nobody rated the m70 as far as i can remember goodman....jvc have made much better models which hardly get mentioned, it's so strange dude

Radio raheem, many people in this forum like this model.
I bought it at a good price, but there were a few problems, which I could not repair perfectly.
I prefer the control buttons on the cassette to be on the bottom side.
And here in this JVC everything is upside down and the cassette is also put upside down.
At the moment I also have some boomboxes that are controlled from bottom
(Sanyo M-7780, Philips D 8082 Le Cube, Philips D 8304 (new), Panasonic RX-FT530), but I'm already used to them.

Here is another boombox that is not part of my collection.
Qualimax - GP-1 - mini version of SHARP GF 777.

Qualimax-GP-1.jpg

Restoration Project
I bought it in the summer of 2012. There were many missing parts and problems.
Most buttons and a pinch roller on Deck A were missing. The radio tuner did not receive FM stations well.
I clean boombox and replace the buttons, but I didn't find a pinch roller. I sold it 2 months later.

After writing about the small version of Sharp 777 ,
I remembered that in 2012 I was repairing Sharp 777 for a friend of mine:
Sharp 777 Restoration Project
In a few months I had 3 Sharp's:
My mint Sharp 777 (first):

Sharp GF777 - 01
by ivosn
The one I repaired (second):
SHARP-777-01.jpg

And another (third) to use it for spare parts:
SHARP-777-19.jpg

So after a few months, the repaired Sharp looked like this:
SHARP-777-43.jpg

I gave it back to my friend and the third, I sold it.
In these days I have only one Sharp...

Ooof, that second Sharp picture, hah. Im lucky in that so far, the boxes Ive found have been stashed away rather than fed to a child.. or perhaps a dog haha.

Nice job on the repair.

Hitachi - TRK-3D2E is another boombox that was with me for a while. I bought it in december 2020.
Hitachi had problems with the sound potentiometer, needed new belts. There were also cosmetic remarks.
After little restoration boombox work wery good. I decided to give it to a friend for Christmas.
He had this model many years ago and is very happy with the gift.

Hi Goodman, I see you also have a lot of different marks in boomboxes! Can you help me with something? I have here a SANYO 9818-2K with I think US plug.
I'm afraid this radio will only work on 110V? When I change the plug for Euro plug, I also should change the voltage inside the radio? On the outside I see no changable switch, it might be inside? I know Europea radio's often have these options to change voltage, but I'm not sure about this one? (I might have to open this radio?)
