What Boombox Are You Cranking Up Right Now??

TODAY, I am cranking THIS GUY. Bought last week from original owner. Rebelted and cleaned it and WoW! I did not expect good sound and thought that the wireless was the selling gimmick but this boombox really is a very good sounding boombox and while it is a bit bass shy, can really crank!

Congratulations!

I can't speak about the biggest box they made but it seems Toshiba made their boxes with much lower volume than their competitors. :-/

Luckily, they've got better overall sound than most of those same competitors.
Hey Mono. After I cleaned the controls -- it does get pretty loud. It may not be the loudest boombox out there, but it can definitely hold it's own. It seems like it's 2 to 3 times louder than the RT-8980.

Not exactly a Boombox but a Nakamichi 480 deck with the 2010 Sunshine Mix Fuji ZII Cassette goin' full blast on the headphones!!! YEAH JaeTee, lovin' it man!!!

I can't remember if I ever Deoxit-ed mine... :hmmm: If I didn't, perhaps that would've helped me enjoy it more... Regardless, I think I've got some mini's that are just as loud as the S93 and all of my similar sized boxes are much louder... Perhaps there's a slight power difference between the domestic (Japanese) and non-domestic versions.

The RT-8980 was a disappointment to me 'cause the 3-way design should have an advantage over the 2-way of the RT-S93 I have, but it didn't. To me, the highs seemed muffled and the bass was weaker. It's volume only seemed slightly lower than the S93, but then again, I never really cranked it up or did a good comparison with it 'cause the high end was weak.

Deeper bass than an M90 or a J-1 Super Jumbo, the General Sound GS-1018...

That track's not recommended for weak boxes or laptop speakers... Sounds like an SP12 kick...
