Cheers Brutus, I'm glad someone else likes it! I also have this one that I bought recently, branded as Radiotone but very similar. It's still sat in my car restoration garage and I haven't tried it to see if it works yet.....

Every version of this box I've seen has been very cool and good-looking boomboxes I wish I had 10 of them.

I'm not sure we have these boxes in the USA but if we do they won't last 5 minutes and somebody will buy them. We didn't have these kind of cool choices back in the day. It was mostly mainstream like conions and jvc's and Sharps and sanyo's. Although I will say laSonic made it interesting because they sold boxes for cheap that were just pure badass.

Oh I noticed the lasonic TRC 920 type cassette deck the lasonic TRC 920 mic covers and the lasonic TRC 920ish woofer trims on these boxes.

I drove 2 hours roundtrip to a Chicago suburb to pick up this sexy lil’ beast (Sony CF-490S) from a lovely Japanese couple in their 80’s. They said they bought it their 30’s and took care of it like a baby. It’s super minty with everything working perfectly and she thumps pretty hard with amazing low-end bass. The heft and quality of this box are truly impressive! I think it's pretty rare too...

These are fantastic! Bass is considerable for Sony considering the period.
