Right you are, Valde. And in the meantime, that TRK-series Hitachi of yours is chillin’.

Uh, where exactly in Norway is it hangin’ around in that photo’? In Oslo, the capital? Or maybe in Bodø, inside the Arctic Circle? And, to begin with, what model of Hitachi is that? A TRK-8180? And was that actually a Bee Gees jam – “Fallen Angel” – from their 1993 album Size Isn’t Everything that I first heard from an ‘8180 minutes ago in a FunMaster YouTube video? The Shazam app’ in my smartphone seems to think so.

Thanks for sharing.
It's hanging out on the west coast of Norway where we got all the mountains and the fjords:hooray: Middle of nowhere outside city of Bergen where no one cares if i crank up my boxes :stereo: The one on the picture is an TRK 8180EM.

Hi everyone- I have to ask:What boombox are you listening to or cranking way up to I should ask??This can be an ongoing thread-other days just put the "other" boomer your listening to.

Mine this week is:My original JVC-PC-55JW I bought brand new in 1985'.
There is just something special about listening to an original 80's boomer that you personally brought brand new.
It's so powerful-I love it!!

I'll have to get out all "The Papers"-Yes Tony, your not the only one that has all his papers on his original boombox.

So-let us all know what box your cranking out to!!
Have a super weekend-GB. :-) :-D :-P
Hi I am listening to my tpr-985g. It sounds awaome and I found it out in the rubbish on someone's verge a week ago.

Oeps, now I noticed I was cranking up my Red Sharp and placed the result in "Collections" so might be more visible in this GC.
This is how I bought it see pictures!$_86 (8).jpg

Like that red Sharp, Masterblaster!

My dad had the very similar WQ-T232 in the garage many years ago, in the same red. Long since scrapped sadly. I did buy the black version on fleabay recently but obviously red is cooler! The twin tape mech is remarkably clever and very neatly engineered.

As for the 'box I'm cranking now, I've been playing some good old stuff through my rather tatty but largely functional Santo M9998K. Currently enjoying I Got The... by Labi Siffre.

(The function switch is temperamental, the tape deck does nothing and it's generally in quite shabby condition, but what a fantastic sounding box it is.)

The Sanyo is an excellent sounding box and a (K) model. This will have phono RCA connections on the top of the back for line-in.

It's the phono input that I'm using. That, and the radio, work pretty well, but with a certain quirk: the function selector switch is temperamental to the point that it doesn't do a thing in "Phono", but when selected to "Tape" the phono inputs work perfectly well, without having to press "Play" on the tape deck...!

Can't imagine it having been designed this way by Sanyo. Hopefully will get it all working properly when I eventually get round to stripping it down.

Listening to some newly discovered sovietwave on my recently bought panasonic rx-c20. I'm quite pleased with this purchase even though I'm not that impressed with the sound quality after all I've read about this mini. I guess modern bluetooth speakers spoiled me a bit. But as a music lover, I realize stereo is a must.
