Just been testing out the recently acquired Akai PJ-W30 that I cleaned up over the weekend. The FM reception is excellent and it locks onto stations really well. Tape deck 1 spools tape out of the cassette so there seems to be a problem with the takeup reel. Deck 2 doesn't do anything so it's in need of more TLC.....

Great box though, sound is full and clear especially on SP-4 and Wide settings. Not a bass monster, but a very sweet sounding box by any standards.

On holidays with the family at Coffs Harbour, NSW.

Cranking the V5.0 on the front deck of our seaside holiday unit - can't beat the sound out of this thing. Maybe the Bumpboxx will surpass it!?View attachment 30158View attachment 30159

Don't you hate it when you're on your holiday and you want to watch an action movie and your holiday unit only has a tv with shitty coin sized speakers??

Well how about a pair of hard driven 8 inch drivers providing the explosions? :lol:View attachment 30200

The more I see these, the more I like them. Simple things like a battery meter!!!!

BTW, does the handle fold down?
Yes the handle rotates forward and backwards. There are tension screws located on the sides. I love the sound on this little box.

Often forgotten & underrated these were of a very high build quality & finish as my near mint 656 & can fill a room with a very nice sound - bouncy bass & a very crisp treble

As it was brought out of the 'Boomer Storage Room' a week ago, it was time to plug her in

Once again, it was a great reminder of how good these are!!

Check out the soft eject in the video............36 years & still every thing works as it should
