Mid 1970s Westron GEC 2004 with swivel base, AM, FM, AUX and Stereo Tape Deck! Found this operational unit this week on the side of the road
AC or 8 D cells. Sounds nice actually!

In response to a request by Mr Lasonic TRC-920 in this thread, here are some piccies of my newly acquired JVC mini box, the RC-N5. This isn't - in my opinion - as unusual as many of the boxes that have been posted to this thread previously, but it's not the commonest thing in the world (though there is another one on eBay right now) and has some oddball design features.
It's shown standing by the daily use Sharp GF-555 which has been given the task of looking after the new kid on the block in case the bigger 3 and 4 piece boxes try to bully it, this gives an idea of scale.

Pics from local ads. Looks like a unit from late 60s or early 70s. Extremely interesting when it matters designer's thinking ahead of time. It has flat speakers, sliding potentiometers, vu meters, detachable seakers...
