Thanks Ben!!

No progress to report until next week.

I went to the sticker shop today and they'll have something done by end of next week.

In the meantime I'll be making sure all stickers for the controls are rockin when I go back to work on Monday.

With any luck by mid next week I'll have some more progress, hopefully there shouldn't be any more delays now everything's reopened after the holidays.

After my meeting with the sticker people I decided to redo the original photoshop and base it on a photo of where the M90 is currently at.

I really needed to do this to make sure the stripe stickers will be the right angle when printed, which proved much more difficult than the original render as this had to work 1:1 with the actual M90.

She's evolved a little bit, but this is the final lot of photoshop work I'll be doing on her. I also included the button/knob text to see how the final should look.
Hopefully very little to do on those to ensure they fit, but will do some test prints at work this week.
(Metal top trim is a photoshop addition as my replacement one is still in the post)

I'm still in love with her!

Wow that's a true work of art worthy to be displayed in a museum!! Seriously!!

Can't wait to see the actual finished product! Post pics and a video!!

This is also a MUST for the Boomboxery pose thread!!! No excuses!!

Thanks guys!

Yeah, as Bill said, the text is all made up and will be printed as a sticker.
This was a loooonnng process as I made it all up in Publisher and every word/line/object had to be moved independently.
Then test printed to see if it fitted. On top of trying of match the fonts and line sizes and such it became a very laborious job.

But! The end result will hopefully come up quite nice.

As soon as the text all works I'll be sharing the files around on here in case anyone else needs to do theirs up too.

I think maybe a funkier font might have been in order for this version, just a thought!

Ahh I contemplated that a great deal! I've got a brutal font fetish and have been know to spend hours looking for the right font for the right text.

Initially I was going to change the font to something else, but first I wanted to see if I could find the M90 one, or something very close. I found one that was very close and after looking at it quite a bit (you don't really 'look' at fonts too much when they're actually on a radio, I find) I decided I really liked it.

Sure it's subtle, but it's very stylish and I think having something on this M90 with a modicum of a minimalist aesthetic adds to the overall look rather than detracts.

It's an easy trap I often fall into to make a design too busy for it's own good. With this one it walks a fine line! I thought changing the font/line markings too much on the controls might make it detract as theres so many of them concentrated into a small panel. This is one of the reasons I'm not going to put labels on the bottom sockets and panel below the deck door too, to keep it as uncluttered as possible and to make the symmetry of the line stickers and the bands of colour the focus.

The creative process can include be being uncreative in some cases!

Agreed! I think of it less as being uncreative and more as sticking to the goal and staying focused on the big picture. ;-)

Oh, and I was a graphic designer for nearly 20 years working for Billboard Magazine, so I think I share the font fetish for sure, lol!
