The miniature world of railway modelling

These days, while I was enjoying my model train layout, a spy drone flew over it.
And of course, he documented all the details ...
And later the video was published in public space:

It looks great, you must have spent a lot of time preparing it.
Hi, sorry for the late reply.

The work began in the autumn of 2009.
There were many problems to solve.
One year later, in the autumn of 2010, the model train layout was almost ready.
Here are the stages of work:
1. making the base of wood.
2. laying the track.
3. laying cables and connecting the entire system.
4. making platforms.
5. installation of the buildings, sold separate, only need to be assembled.
6. laying the grass, sell on sheets and stick to the base.
7. ballasting the rails with a special small ballast and sticking it.
8. making roads.
9. landscaping with trees and pine trees, sold separate.
10. making hills and mountains.

Here is a short video of 3 minutes, which shows my job for 1 year.

That Deutsche Bahn model is beautiful! The detail in the tiny stickers is really impressive, too.

Yes, details are very important for these models. In recent years, their prices have also increased.
I was looking at the latest catalogs for this year and the prices of some models are well above my budget... :hmmm:

I am not sure why I am so late getting to enjoy this post. Awesome job goodman! I have my fathers old American Flyer train he got for Christmas in 55 and all his HO scale trains and engines. I still have my train he got me for Christmas many years ago that I have not opened yet. This post has inspired me to start looking into getting them out and seeing if they still work.

Thanks you. Yes, that was my first hobby.
If you haven't looked at the entire topic, you can take 5 minutes.
I have these trains for a long time, since I was a little boy. All my old locomotives work.
When they have not been used for a long time, it is a good idea to lubricate the motor and gears.
To do this, you will have to disassemble the body. Different models are disassembled in different ways.
You have to be careful not to break the body, because the plastic ages and is very thin.
This is a very interesting and entertaining hobby. While you are driving the trains, you can also listen the boombox.

Here's how my two hobbies combine on the wall:
