Horrible distorted music. He needs to lower his phone's output volume, or quit using low bitrate tracks lol

I am sure this was a prototype...or at least I hope it was. Silver worn off the knobs, tape deck door flew open with no soft eject and appeared to be broken (not wanting to close) hence the quick camera change.

They are known for their attention to detail so I am sure all of this will be addressed on the final product.

I believe it was a prototype. I don't doubt that based even on just their updates through their fundraising campaign, that it'll be better than what's in that review.

Doesn't do anything for me but to each their own.

I thought the same thing, another small bt box. Till I realized it had a real tuner and powerful output for its size, plus separate bass and treble controls. For the price you can’t go wrong.

My soda can sized JBL bt speaker was more than double the price and it’s just one speaker.

Not a very impressive or thorough review...

Says unboxing, but it was already out of the box, no box in sight. Would have been nice to see him play with the AM/FM tuner a bit, maybe even the SD/USB stuff, to kind of show how we can expect to function it all.

I noticed the power is not turned on like the original push button? That's fine, just interesting. And the VU's I guess don't work? Maybe cause it's a prototype??

I'm still excited though. I'm sure I'll still like and use them quite a bit.
This review was terrible in my opinion. He didn't seem familiar with the product at all. He was reviewing a heavily used prototype with a missing antenna. The prototype I got my hands on was in far better condition.

Disclaimer: I don't work for New Wave Toys but the project manager reached out to me to consult due to my experience with boomboxes and my overall enthusiasm about the product. I was offered a percentage of sales but declined any money and offered to help them for free. I did this because I love this hobby and never want to profit from it. I also believe in this project after meeting Peter and his staff. They truly want this to be as accurate and detailed as possible. I think they knocked it out of the park!

Update!!!! Great news in my opinion. Assuming it's still available with the blue woofers.

It seems over, can anyone still purchase thing via Kickstarter (sorry I'm old and not a kickstarter user)?

I'd never heard of Kickstarter before this.

But from what I can tell, these things will supposedly go on sale to the public when they are ready to ship.

It appears Kickstarter is sort of a presale/funding for projects/ideas. If the funding goes well, they attempt to start production of the real product.

It's gone quiet with these lately.
I believe they were going to ship before end of 2020?
