that's a beautiful unit , i really think the design and build quality could show the main stream manufacturers a thing or two about building an awesome boombox.

There were only a few Compact/Microcassette double tape recorder models ever made.

Aiwa CS-W7 - already in this thread.

Sanyo WMR-CM - a rare Japanese domestic one. Sanyo M-W50K (European one).

And their less rare brother Fisher PH-M77.

There are actually quite some more boomboxes without internal transformer...
... and some that have either/or power supplies. Technics SA-C05L for one, it can take 10 Ds, but only when you remove the mains TX, a bit pointless since the tape motors run down thae 10 in under 30 minutes to the point where they won't.
Hacker SP80's battery tray was an optional extra and again, the mains TX had to be removed to use it. Some Roberts sets had the option of six Cs or six Ds, if you fit the battery that holds the six Ds, there's no mains TX but on the battery that uses the Cs, there's room for the mains supply on there.
But on rare and small, is the Japanese JVC RC-N5 not quite a rarity? Few enough were built in any case but most were out of Singapore, this one is Japanese, uses six AA cells to allow space for its onboard mains and has a hidden cassette deck:

Nothing much to write home about but that's the only boomer under Creative brand
I have seen so far.
Made in Korea for Japan.

Don't think that it's that Sound Blaster Creative. :-)

Yes, and I have no idea why the images didn't come up.

Thanks for posting the advert page to show what it looks like. My one has its packaging, the original papers and the box. Sound is pretty fair for such a tiny thing, Biphobic works well on the set too, making it sound much larger than it is.

I love that TV box. It's as though JVC's production brief was : Make it so that there are elements of comms receiver, elements of boombox and elements of the console from a 1960s Bedford coach. Oh, and if there's space left for a CRT, someone shoehorn one of those in too!
