I don't know what is going on with the clear, but it is not glossy like I wanted. It is really patchy looking, mostly dull, some shinier spots but bery uneven...... I don't know what to do from here but I can't reassemble this until I figure out if I need to scuff and spray a different gloss clear on out.

Here is a preview with some trims layed down.

Joel I would try the Rustoleum or Krylon clear coat they sell at Lowe's and Home Depot I used it before and it looks great.

I would just re spray it first before you sand it down to see what happens what do you got to lose.

I think the primer wasn't dry enough before I sprayed color because I have a couple spots that lifted when taking off the tape. It was raining and probably 90% humidity....

Ugh frustrating.

I had to wait to put it back together so I can spray a different clear on it :-/

No sound check just yet.

This is the clear I used:

The clear I used above doesn't say if it is gloss, flat, matte, semigloss, nothing. I ****ed up using that.

Glad I didn't assemble it because I really want it glossy. I went out and bought a clear that says 'gloss' on it. Masked it all up again.

What a difference!!!! The pear flip/flop metallic really pops and it is a nice even shiney coat. With the primer, color, shitty clear, and the gloss clear, I have about 10 coats on this pig. Yikes! The more layers you paint, the softer it becomes. From what I can tell, the primer must have finally dried because the color is holding strong now. This blue is amazing.

Now i have to leave it alone overnight before I try putting it back together.
