Ok cool. He has returned my messages as well which is good. Let me know what your box is like. I wonder who got the box in the pictures?

Hi. Brand new member here. I also purchased an M70 from knobzstore on Etsy (he said he had 3 units). I’m new to the collecting scene and just took a flier on this purchase.

I haven’t received my order yet, but I now have a DHL tracking number, which makes me feel better. The seller has been in contact with me from before the purchase and seems like a good guy, but I have no idea about the legitimacy of his business. I found his website and Instagram page and saw that he had his own branded insulated bottle and t shirt so I asked if I could buy one of each of those. I figured if he couldn’t sell me those I should start to worry about my boombox purchase. But he was happy to sell those to me and I paid an additional amount via PayPal. I received that package via DHL last week and they’re pretty cool! Unique items and my kids immediately laid claim to them.

Hope it all works out. DHL estimates delivery on June 7.

My M70 arrived yesterday. It was packed up well and looked like the pictures on Etsy. All the surfaces were clean, but looks like I’ll need to clean out some of the grime in the controls. I haven’t had a chance to plug it in yet. It came with a cord designed for Indonesia outlets. I have a converter somewhere in the house so once that’s located I’ll see how it operates.

Overall, the process has been pretty smooth. I’ll admit I was a little nervous buying from overseas, but once the package got into the hands of DHL I was able to track it the entire time and it only took like 5 days to get here. However, it must have sat with the local courier for several days prior to the hand off to DHL. Thats was the most stressful part; I had a tracking number but no activity. But Knobzstore kept me updated the entire time.

Awesome thanks for the update. Mine says left originating country on may 25th but nothing since then. Fingers crossed. Let me know how it functions.

Sorry. Haven’t been able to locate my plug adapter. Probably going to have to buy a US style plug. I see someone here on booboxery recommenced one on eBay that worked for his jvc. I’ll probably just order that. But still keep looking for my adapter.

Do you have any other radios. They’re pretty much all the same. Just make sure the voltage is switched to 120

No other radios for me yet. Just getting into the sport. However I just realized I should put some batteries in this thing and see what happens. I’m guessing it takes a bunch of D batteries, probably in an amount that I don’t keep around the house. I’ll try to explore that option today.

Got my m70 plugged in and operational. Kind of a mixed bag. The left speaker doesn’t respond well to the volume control. It’s very quiet. The right speaker is incredibly loud even at low volume. The radio performed as expected. I played the demo cassette he sent with my unit and sounded good (with the above mentioned speaker issues) but ultimately ate the tape. I’m sure I’ll need to clean up some parts and do a lot of searching on this forum to get the speaker/volume control working correctly. But, for what I paid compared to what I saw on eBay, I’m ok with it. It was pretty much as described on Etsy and the knobzstore guy was easy to work with.

Seems like a ton of resources on this website and I’m eager to learn more about everything!

OK glad you’re happy. I’ll let you know when I get mine how it is. So maybe you need to clean your function switch or record bar

I bought tenergy brand batteries. 10000 size. I’ve had them for a year and they work awesome. I never use cords now, even in the house. I play cassettes 95% of the time in my boomboxes and they last about a week at high volume. I highly recommend. The charger was expensive and the batteries as well but I feel well worth it. I’ve already got my money’s worth and they are still going strong. I love to be able to carry my Bible x around or bring it where I want in the backyard. I’m not scared to forget leaving it on or anything like I used to be because good D batteries are so damn expensive.
