I've FINALLLY been able to get some work done on this, after much buggerising around trying to locate paints and other things. I'd like to thank Alfie for this 777 which he's ever so kindly donated to this project, and he asked me to donate the money I was going to give him for it to Boomboxery, which I shall do soon and am very thankful for.
I managed to find the paints I needed from MTN, who make graffiti paints. I must say, graffiti cans are absolutely amazing to work with. The control, pigment and quality are a million miles above the usual spray cans. These MTN colours are perfect and improve what I was trying to achieve in the colours in my mock up, the pink is much more pastel shade as opposed to verging on purple hues as it is in the mock up.
After some basic sanding and undercoating I got the torn-stripe colours on and they really came out great.
From the back, the colours blend again in the middle.
And here's a shot of the initial grill work with the first stencilling.
I'm progressing really well with this and it's coming together very nicely. There'll be more to report soon!
Rock On.
