Ha,I did some chopper parts for a guy in Miami earlier this year, custom-mix candy black cherry.. Looks black in the shade and turns vibrant red when sun hits it!

I've been custom painting cars and doing graffiti art for the past 7 years now, so I've had quite a bit of practice mastering the technique.. Fades are one of my favorite tricks to do, just a lot of gun control and can control!
That's why I asked in your painting Boomboxes thread which look were you trying to achieve, because there is more than one way to skin a cat..

Just sprayed some Bright Aqua on my Blockbuster, DuPont clears are the best!

lol. Well lets plan on some repaints upcoming in the future. I like that Dupont. A gun metal blue is my lean on the 767. Missed out on a 909 so... figure a repaint will do me good on something.

I forgot to post up the melt mark repair.. Before

Sanded smooth and line re established and some filler..

Original back/ Riker flat black
Flat black w matte clear/ gloss black w DuPont clear

Few dings pounded out of woofer grilles & re sprayed front/back
Chrome redone on tweeter grilles

It's actually a 1996 Chevy color..I was at the paint store flippin through the chip books and thought it was a hot ****!
I put some chrome around the speaker grilles and set the front on top of another Blockbuster to get an idea of how it'll look..

It usually takes 2 medium coats to cover everything evenly.. A lot of nooks and crannies and getting in all the vent fins..

Polished every lick of chrome on this machine before reassembly, even the dustcaps!
Re-blacked all the speakers as well..
