Here it is...one step closer to be complete.

THANK YOU ADAM FOR HOOKING ME UP WITH THIS BATTERY DOOR!

Now I can rock the street without my batteries ending up all over the floor and me looking like, as Ira would say "A DooF" :dunce: :nonono:

Continuing on this restoration....THANKS AGAIN JIMMY FOR THE EQ SLIDERS, BUTTON AND SWITCH!

I was able to match the paint colors to paint the EQ sliders (red) and button and switch (baby blue).

First a little sanding and prep work...

Then some painting. The top button is the original

The EQ slider on the right is the original

I'm still waiting on the more robust handle I ordered off eLame. I ordered it last week and the seller hasn't shipped it yet :-/  Had to open a claim.

Next, I have to make new hinges for deck 2.

I also found the missing C clip for deck 1 so I have to put that on.

Should be 100% by the end of the day!

The drive wheel on the right was the one missing the C clip. It's now been replaced. Still needs to be tested.

EQ sliders have dried and are in place. A perfect color match!

And the deck 2 door hinges have been repaired!

I'm still waiting for the blue paint to dry on the button and switch....then reassemble and test the decks

Really, the only thing missing is the "Audio Visual" badge. If anyone has one!

Thanks again everyone...what an insane odyssey

(BTW, The decks are both working, but I need to rebelt them. Deck 1 plays, but the belt slips while FFW or REW and Deck 2 plays, but it's slightly slow, so a speed adjustment maybe in order, no big deal.)

AC/DC sounding just as good as ever on that awesome beast of a box, Chris.

I wish I had one of these. OK, so you may be thinking "yeah, you and the rest of the world" but the reason I wish I had one right this minute is that if I did, then I'd use some Magic Polymorph or Milliput and make a mould from the AudioVisual badge, then make a replica that I could send your way to complete your incredible project.

But I have no Discolite so come on, one of you owners make that replica for the man!

I had this thing ROARING in the garage! I have to say, the sound quality is WAY better that any one ever said. the 7 band EQ lets you dial in the sound and the bass is respectable!

Thanks man! I'm sure one will turn up and if not....so be it....I still can't believe this whole thing...it just blows me away. Boomboxery is the best bar none!
