I didn't vote because there was not an option that applied to me. There is alot of area that is not covered by those poll choices. There is not one option that I would ONLY do and I don't yet fall into that I AM NOT COMING category. The odds of me coming don't change at all dependent on location so long as it is held in Florida the odds are the same. So how was I supposed to vote? :hmmm:

agree with the last two posts......i voted for where it was last year. that was tony's clubhouse right??? im kinda indifferent, but the clubhouse seems like the easiest option....and i dont have a family to satisfy.
whatever works.

JAETEE you need a "other" option
"Other" is too broad....

After reading Spud's comments, I'm thinking I should have included a "I don't care where it is, I'm coming to Florida regardless" option.

(Fatdog, can you edit the poll and add that as an option?)

I think doing it at the Beach is the way to go. Lets change things around.
No offense, but the clubhouse, etc. stuff is getting old

A few bucks for a great weekend on the beach with friends and collections would be great.
Betty and I would make a commitment to move up and do something different.

Likely we will not be attending if its same old same old.

dunno :hmmm: :surf:

these silly beaches down here often offer awful distractions -- :-O

and for us boombox enthusiast // purists

the clubhouse is/was really the perfect provider of the right
mix of fun, friendship and the REAL business of seeing//hearing boxes-
trading -- learning .
seriously

the beach scene might be too risky --
when it rains in florida that time of year --
the sky explodes with tremendous wet results - :-O :surf: :-O
so --the boxes may have to be blasted inside the hotels rooms -
or in a rented hall -

could be big fun--
but with any bad weather --less fun

therefor --tonys clubhouse = safety + comfort --
and the volume levels are unlimited :w00t:

I don't think it was meant that the actual meet would be held on the beach. More so, it would be in a hotel / motel conference type room and the hotel would have beach access if anyone wanted to take a quick break. ;-) - OR - The wives and family could hang out at the beach while all the guys boomed it up.

well well :hmmm:

as soon as we get 277 members to $$ commit --in advance -
we could book this complete resort --exclusively-
and make tons of noise :w00t:

and have our own pole dancer :-)

its right on the beach - in st pete -
the world famous DON CESAR resort

could be swell  :surf: ;-)

Well The Don, might be a little much, but I can tell you from experience, lots of little 'Mom & Pop" older courtyard style places are hapy to take small groups. Betty & I hosted friends for 6 years at various Beach motels from 15 people to 50.

I had a place like JT's Postcard Inn in mind, on the beach near Long Pier, free common room overlooking the beach, sun deck, nice pool, cheap.

Maybe we can get a few of to do it some weekend. Just Sayin, it would be a nice change.

That is a great looking room! Much better view than from the Postcard Inn's banguet room! (which is about 100 yds from the beach)

Since doing this at the Postcard Inn is not possible on the exact weekend chosen for the meet, can you reach out to the Isis and see if it is available and what the room rate would be? Although, from the comments/thoughts expressed, I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the effort on your part. :-/

that isis looks very inviting -- worth the phone call to get the rates and availability --

as just one nit-pick negative thought --
it will be a very public access for beach people , rednecks :-O :-) and registered box thieves -- ;-)
so perhaps
we would be less secure about having;/'leaving our cherished and irreplaceable collections in that
lovely room --

at tonys place --i would feel comfortable leaving ramons entire collection on display -
for days on end
------------------------

btw - we have 2 threads running on this location topic now --
can we have a combo :-) :agree:
