Last night-The Sanyo M9994!!
Listening to FM stations and an Information Society cassette.
Now this thing is a very serious boombox.
I couldn't reach 7 on volume-It get's so loud it starts hurting your ears about 6.5 on the volume-I just love it!!
So clear and so powerful-I was at 3+ watts per channel continuous on the meters and with much to spare!!
Gotta get a "K" model of one of these-they're too much especially with the midrange control like I have on mine!

You don't want the K model. The tuners on Sanyo boomboxes go on the blink all the time, M9994 included and so far, I have NOT found a service manual for the K model, only for the US model. The tuner is entirely different and not interchangeable. Without the service manual, tuners are almost impossible to troubleshoot and align. Who listens to SW on a boombox anyhow? It's crappy for that purpose. For real SW listening, you'll want to get a serious SW radio instead. Oh, yeah, the K model also means you'll lose the midrange button which makes the box so loud. Since I like brassy sound, it's perfect for me. The K model gives you a loudness button instead. Frankly, I much prefer the midrange button.
