Dusted off the Sharp GF-800 to jam some Michael Jackson and Prince...this is one nice sounding box! Very crisp highs, powerful mids, and very tight bass.

Playing Steely Dan on the Sanyo 920...jazz sounds ridiculously good on the 920 on the "Wide" setting. It really enhances and beautifully separates the instruments for a live sounding experience.

Hey Rim...in sunny California the parks and beaches are always filled with people so I get much enjoyment in taking my boxes in public. You should try and remember what made you start loving this hobby. My love for it started in my youth seeing them at the parks, beaches, malls, or just on the street...but the music was everywhere. When I take mine out in public everyone comments on them in a positive way and that keeps the fire burning. So get out and share the music... ...and you should have kept the 920... :-D ...by the way in the coming months I will be unveiling a project box with upgraded amps and speakers that will have crazy volume, bass, 8" woofers and run on batteries...stay tuned...

Playing 'Elvis 100 Super Rocks' 6 cassette pack ...

A sad day, indeed... :sadno:
...but as long as there's music to play, the once & future King of Rock 'n Roll will never die!

Playing The Complete Sun Sessions in pristine mono on my new Prosonic PQR 9850.

I had the M90 out at the park today playing various electronic funk and a group of skateboarders came up to me. They were amazed by the M90 and asked what year it was from. I told them 1981 and they were shocked because they thought it was much newer than that. Most of them had never seen one up close and had lots of questions that I was happy to answer. They hung out for about an hour and seemed to enjoy the M90 more than me. So fellas dust off your boxes and take them out for a stroll every once in a while. You may be surprised at the attention you get and you can educate some people about the hobby... :-D

Great story, Melly Mel...

Wish I had a car 'cause I'd take my boxes downtown (Center City) and hang out there on the weekends... Or Love Park... Or Fairmount Park... etc. ... The options are almost limitless.

Other than a kid on a 10-speed who rode up to my steps and said he liked my radios last Saturday (I had 4 of 'em out), I don't get that kind of attention when I'm sitting outside.

Still, weather permitting, I'll have the 20/20 and/or 999 out tomorrow.

Skippy, that's a VERY serious looking box,...

but is it really a box? :-/
Thanks mono,it is very serious,but
Is it a "true boombox? No, not really. :sin:
Lets see, :hmmm:
1. Handle, yes. two of them in fact. :-P
2. Attached speakers,yes
3.Portable, yes  "if you have a strong back or a wagon" LOL!
4. Battery powered,no.........
I don't think you would have a place to put all the D cells,as it draws 140 watts.......... :jawdrop:
So it is kinda like the Technics SA-C07,looks like a boombox, portable like a boombox, but it does not take batteries other than a AA for the memory and clock..

Sorry to hear that, Skippy. :-/ Guess that makes it more of a "house box" than anything...

With that kind of power, perhaps a Sears Die Hard battery in a backpack would be more appropriate.

Still a great looking machine tho!
