What Boombox Are You Cranking Up Right Now??

That's a nice looking boombox I love the illumination of the tuner dial because the older I get the harder it is for me to see anything.

Same problem here - but I blame tuner dials aging for me having more difficulties not to see them all blurry .

Now bluetoothing it.. And adding some buttons for the lights, one for the needles and tuning-meter, one for the tape deck (which I tend to concidere more of a gadget than the tuner dial light which is useful imo), and a Bluetooth button , taking care to shield any wire carrying my 5V power for lights and Bluetooth, I don't like tapping into the original pcb or power supply, and therefore add a separated power supply for the gadgets

Hell I would almost hate you, RX C52 is on my wishlist since...ages (middle ages !)...can t even find ONE and you got 2 ! and in pretty decent condition !!! Congrats

if you were my nextdoor neighbour you could have had all of mine free as i don't really use boxes anymore.....they have been sitting in my back room for about 10 years.....fly over to wales and you can have them for free

Thank you. I saw one on ebay last week, but it was in very bad condition. Someone paid £45 for it. I feel lucky.

Since Brexit Ebay UK has become off limits for us, Europe mainland.... between customs and much much higher shipping then before...it s no longer worth the risk, even at 45 quid getting it here would make it at least 120 euro "for pieces". Very happy you got your hands on one !!!

I shall seriously concider migrating But I will let you know if I get back to Welsh country at some point in time (wouldnt want them for free though !)

I've been listening to this since finishing the refurb on it earlier this year.
I think it sounds and looks great.
You can see I've replaced the piezos (that had chrome dust caps) with soft dome tweeters.
The VU meters might be the liveliest in any box I've owned.
It's become one of my favorites.

People sleep on these boxes, probably because of the square grills. But personally I think they sound better than the M70.
