Just put the replacement tuning glass and a new antenna on the Sharp 9696 as well as serviced the cassette. Thanks Nikonfoo!!

Cat house was built with random leftover boards I had sort of a recycle job. Your 505 looks fantastic, awesome pic. The antenna hold downs on this model scare the crap out of me so brittle!! THey would actually make a good 3D printing project since they just simply click in place. :hmmm:

True!! At 16 kilos, she's a heavy beast!! The 17mm thick plywood is the cause of a lot of the weight - I'm sure though that a thinner (lighter) walled construction wouldn't contain the bucket loads of extra heavy bass though.
