I get the "teaching" part of the description...ok, ok I consider myself "schooled."

Where did you find all these never-before seen boomboxes...Yahoo.jp? This is just a jaw-dropping-ly, awe-inspiring collection.

Yep, either from there or from other Japanese sources - scanning the web once have a minute.
Also, my mates in the hobby sometimes bump into great never-yet-seen boxes.

Love to explore the internal Japanese radio world of 70s-90s, seems almost endless - wonders never cease.
And to share those with hobby mates.

I bet that has decent bass...
I had a similar Sony ZS-8 - well, for it's size the bass is good, "Aunt Sonya", as we call it, has acoustic labyrinths, bass reflex ports, all that stuff.
And tooo smart sound effects processor. :-)

Whoah.....love the blue on that one.
That black Sharp looks cool too. Finally a good looking egg.

It's not by Toshiba I think. General is a brand of The General Company, the current Fujitsu General. Or is it a Toshiba aka?
Yep, not a Tosh own brand like Aurex, of course. :)
Neither aka Toshiba I think. At least I don't know similar Tosh models.

The sign T in the circle (plus adding Toshiba next) on the back plate means AFAIK that this bbx production was outsourced to Toshiba. So Toshiba produced either the whole boomer or maybe most parts of it as a subcontractor.
And this General was intended only for Japan - 100V.

It's a whole interesting story about various subcontractors which worked for various brands/companies including major ones.
In the above case Tosh itself played the subcontactor role and wasn't ashamed to put its name on the plate. :)
