The sign T in the circle (plus adding Toshiba next) on the back plate means AFAIK that this bbx production was outsourced to Toshiba. So Toshiba produced either the whole boomer or maybe most parts of it as a subcontractor.
And this General was intended only for Japan - 100V.
It's a whole interesting story about various subcontractors which worked for various brands/companies including major ones.
In the above case Tosh itself played the subcontactor role and wasn't ashamed to put its name on the plate.
