nice this is the 1st time I have seen someone post this radio the telefunken 9000 I found one a yr ago locally

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back --when i was a child -
my dad praised all radios made by grundig and telefunken --

some of the very best quality USA made radios --
zenith & raytheon were both built in factories near our home--

but all the then audiophiles ....... preferred the 2 german models

My dad was a technician and felt the same way. He said that American components, especially at what was considered consumer level, was deteriorating fast. The Europeans still had old world quality, that was still expensive. The Japanese however really found a way to marry the quality at a level everyone could afford. And then the 80's happened...

However, in 1969 my dad felt that way about women also as I am a result of a Israeli/German mom and my Philadelphia born dad. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Great looking radio! That Uher's woofers look fierce! I wouldn't mind either one. Congrats to you all who have one. Does it really sound better than the 800 tho? I'll snatch one up if anybody's offering one up on a trade or something.

I have an 800...and since going through this one (...the CC9000...)in the lab...yes IMHO, it clearly outshines it's baby brother. :-D
