What type of paint do you use and how do you get it so smooth and glossy:drool:
Automotive paints.. PPG basecoat, (the blue is actually a 1996 Chevy color) and DuPont clear.. All sprayed with my SATA spraygun..

Newly acquired Philips 774. For a small box (around the JVC 656 sort of size but taller) this one don't half thump, thanks to Philips' eccentric use of the same oval woofers as found in the Hacker SP80, though obviously the Philips isn't that good, but it's a close thing.

These images are from the eBay listing that led me to it, I'll add it to the list for Zoom HD sound uploads once I'm in the right home to get at all the gear.

Radio is great, line in and out are via switched DIN sockets, so when the "line" input is selected, the tape deck is on unless there's a source plugged in, and then the source comes through. Spatial stereo takes the negative side of each channel and blends these signals to create a whole new area in the stage which is eccentric but works. It's a heavy little thing at well over 3 quarters of a stone without its 6 D cells on board and the mains lead is stashed onboard so it's impossible to lose it!
Cassette deck only needs the belts, unusually for an eBay thing this one is in fact exactly as good as the seller said it was. None too bad at £14 then..

Nice one John! But be careful with the deck. There is a weak gear in that box :(
Thanks for that, Michiel.
I'm not too afraid of stripped teeth or split nylon gears as I have a nice length of naval brass bar in one of my huts, and the means of turning slices of it into gears if necessary. It would be a shame to have my collection infiltrated by a non-working deck in one box so, even if I introduce additional gear noise by fitting brass gears, it will work one way or the other.
