Yay! I have one of those, it does less bass than a typical shirt pocket tranny, but the looks are why I bought mine in pretty much mint order a couple of years back. Treble, on the other hand, is good enough to use as a weapon against misbehaved dogs and it's light enough to take anywhere.
I hated Hitachi for using so many similar-looking yellow and white cables inside the thing though, and all on single pins at the board end, not a single multiplug in sight so, for anyone considering mending the reed switch on the deck or the broken line in contact at the selector switch in theirs, take loads of pictures before you dive in! It's sweet with the DIN input working properly and the deck runs very smoothly.
I might dig mine out now and give it a hurl at kitchen duty. :-)

Those Hitachi certainly have the look don't they? I have a Hitachi that is very important to me. Sounds good but very base shy to.

They're prettier than hell... But you turn the bass up and nothing much happens. I'd use it for a kitchen radio but my Panny C52 outclasses it!

My favourite small/mid size box. Classic styling. These weren't sold in the UK so rare on these shores.
Had to scour the Planet for an aeriel as well as tape door glass and new VU's ( thank you Vintage Man). also repaired the deck and a mains socket issue. I've got a few big hitters but this is one of my favourites.
