Hey 680 fans, forget the hatters, I use mine every night and I can say it thumps my upper level wooden floor with so much force it makes the contents of my class cabinet shake!!

Hey guys,

Anyone know why the dual cassette section of the Panasonic RX-DT680 starts acting weird in its operation as when the cassette function buttons are pushed ? Sometimes, it even eats the tape because the take up reel does not move, sometimes it will fastwind, sometimes not, sometimes it will rewind, sometimes not, sometimes it will reverse itself and then just stop. But it always recognizes that a tape is present when inserted.

Any thoughts on these bizarre actions ?

What makes the 680 better than the rx-dt690 with the 3-way bi-amped speakers..? Just seems with the same nice quality woofers, but having the super tweeter figured the sound quality would be better.. Does anyone know if the 690 has more rms power than the 680.?? Thanks

To summarise, the 690 speaker boxes appear to be tuned to a higher frequency with their larger port. The left most equaliser on the 680 is 100Hz where as the 690 is 330 Hz + the 680 drivers are different (2.7 ohm v 8 ohm).
