I located new aerials for the jvc m90. I had to use the old base from each but they look and work like the originals

Ohh superb!!!
Looks awesome, Zorlac!

I was thinking of making a new VU sticker for mine too. Thought about doing yellow and blue markers on a pink background.
Easy enough to do if you can get it scanned and then do it all up in photoshop.

Still might, I'll see what kind of inspirational work you come up with!

That's a great idea and you wouldn't have to worry about the elements because the "VU's" are protected.

I was going to add a light to my vu's and to the tuner dial but I would need some research before I start getting solder gun happy.
The main reason for redoing the meter and tuner panels is to match the project colors and iluminate them so they have a subtle & quality feel

For some reason my photoshop doesn't work on windows 7. Probably cuz it's an old hacked version from way back. it's brought my m90 project of an incomplete standstill. :'-(
Now I have to go down to W.Virginia for work so it looks like everything will be on hold again :'-(

Waiting sucks...where's the "easy button"?

Rock On.

when you screen print the new logos do you print directly onto it and if so are you building jigs for each box you print on or how? I do silkscreening an di was planning on making vinyl decals to replace some of my faded labels on my boxes but if theres a way to print directly on the box then id rather do that since it looks better so am i gonna hev to build all kinds of special jigs and platens or should i just do up some decal action.

Thanks for the interest brothers. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a long time. The M-90 has been sealed away in my storage unit encapsulated in a safe package. I recently brought it out to my new place but am still too deep in other projects to open it up.

Because the cool chrome pieces didn't fit after reassembly I decided to go with the original knobs but with a new chrome plating. I will also be chroming the tweeter bezels and woofer bezels. I have never seen real chrome plating on an M90 tweeter bezels or the knobs for that matter.(The woofer bezels however are factory chrome plated) It's gonna be expensive but what the hell. I'll just sell one of my other gems to make up for it.

Here is a list of things that I will be doing once I resume the project
1.Chrome metalizing all selector knobs minus the band selectors and minus the tape selectors-every other cluster of knobs will be chrome.
2.Chrome metalizing both pairs of speaker bezels.
3. New aluminum panels with similar lettering as the original - for both vu meters and band dial.
4. I'm searching for a thick rubbery black paint or coating for the rear body panel.
5 I'm keeping the aluminum woofers until I can replace the originals so if you know of a junker m90 with decent woofers get ahold of me. The reason is I wanted to keep everything original but make the drab look equal the exceptional electronics of the m90
6 Lastly the lettering will be silkscreened and it will be a little less busy than the original-It will be called "Zorlac Custom"

If there are any new developements or posts regarding these topics with the JVC M-90 please share them-all new info helps. Thanks

Hey Steve , the box is looking awesome, hope to see more pictures of progress soon!

thx. I will be working on the jvc at the beginning of July. I'll keep you posted.
How does that VZ 2000 sound? I do have a service manual for the 2000 if you can't find it online. It will be useful when you service the turntable & tape deck.

Vz looks and sounds great. I substituted the power cord you sent me with one from my GF 777 and for some reason the tape deck works just fine with it. Just have to get turntable working!

Good Deal. It's the best looking vz 2000 i've ever seen - internet or otherwise. I have owned about 12 of them in the past 15 years and yours is showroom quality. I believe you wont have any problems getting that turntable running. I thought the tape deck worked before perhaps the cord was freyed and didn't have enough power passing through to run the tape deck.

I searched to death on ebay-it's all about the wording-try radio aerial or telescopic antenna. They come up once in a while. It is one of the standard sizes. I took my chances and got lucky. I bid and won 3 from two different sellers and they were all the same once received. I was lucky that they were nearly a perfect fit. I believe they were around 9.00 with shippng, one was $12.00 free shipping.

take a close look at these...

Here is a seller who sells radio telescopic aerials on ebay...
