The fusible resistor for the solenoid was frying up on mine. I remember turning it on and watching the solenoid stay engaged solid, as my finger could feel the resistor get too hot to touch after about 2-3 seconds. It shouldn't stay engaged longer than a second or so, it draws a lot of power and may be why the fusible resistor is there.

If memory serves, in my case I think it was because the opto-sensor couldn't get a reflection off the drive gear, and was unable to tell when the drive gear was in the reset position and is time to disengage the solenoid.
Thanks to DOCS, resistors are on the way. Hopefully they will go in and fix this issue.

Keep your finger on it during powerup, and be ready to turn it off if it gets too hot to touch after a couple seconds. It means something it still wrong upstream.

I never get tired of the m90 , I love everything about it .
I agree Floyd. It's a machine that never gets old and boring.

I'm sure the suspense is starting to build for Chris. I imagine how it's going to feel the first time Play is pressed and the deck roars to life.

There's nothing quite like seeing any machine come back to life after many years. The feeling of accomplishment and the excitement of pressing the power button to see if your time paid off. Then the moment when you get to kick back, drink a beer and let it do what it does best.

I'm very excited for him. I just want to see the big a$$ grin. Gotta take a picture rockin out when this is all over

Yeah, this is one I really want to have in tip top working condition. I absolutely love the deck in the 7979 and this should be even better.

I originally joined the forums to find a fix for my m90 deck and that was 14 years ago lol.
I understand the saga , I'm glad you got her sorted because these deserve to be at their best.

Congratulations mate. Looks absolutely stunning. A very beautiful box and I'm sure was well worth the wait.
I would love to hear and see on in real life..
I hope one day, when the planet's are in line and on my birthday, I would be lucky enough to have one also.
I'm almost 2 years into collecting so I have a while to wait my turn....😪😪
