Good news.

But what happens when you record now?

No problem in recording since switch are already in level measurement position.
In my opinion, the risk was precisely in the reading position. It is to avoid problems that I disconnected the Tuner and battery inputs on the record bar.

I have an RS-4250.
When I feel like listening some music through Aux-In, I use the Rec+Play button pressed with motor stopped using the Remote pin. That means VUs will function while listening through AUX.
I want to keep the boxes as original as possible, and hence do not think of alterations.

I think RS-4150 has the same circuitry.

The 4250 is just beautiful, thanks for the discovery. Some people don't like this style but I don't think I know such a stylish boombox!

I didn't know the remote jack was a pause function. It makes sense, though. This will allow me not to add a hole for a switch.
In my case, the AUX input was always mutted. The mix was only possible with the Microphone input.
So i succeed to mod the Aux/Micro switch to allow mixing on both inputs.
