Alright. I just wrote all this STUFF and as soon as I hit submit, the damn thing kicked me out. Oh well.

There is TRULY NOTHING LIKE THE M90!!!

It IS the HOLY GRAIL of boomboxes, that I know of.

RICH, FULL BASS! SOOOOO

F#$%ING

LOUD!!!

All that said, I worry... I'm not sure if I should've taken the plunge on this one. It is in ROUGH ROUGH SHAPE!!!

Cosmetically, it's just beat up to hell. The chrome looks nice behind the GAHD AWFUL stickers, but that's the only chrome that looks decent. There are scratches and dents all over it. I wonder if it was in a body shop or something.

The Line-in (IT'S A SWITCH BETWEEN PHONO AND LINE IN!!!) is stuck and will not work.

It makes me worry A LOT!

WORRIES!!!

Also, even when playing it on 2, WHICH IS LOUD, the meters are in the red pretty heavy.

I hope this box isn't just a few songs away from blowing an amp or something like that.

I said to myself, after I buy this, we are taking a BREAK from buying boxes.

Now I want another M90 just in case this one dies.

Alright!

Now you can see what a machine it is.

Enjoy it and congrats.

There are guys here that can revive that M-90 just say the word!

Thanks, Juan!

When I have a repair budget, I would trust no others more than folks here!

I just hope there are parts for it all... I know some things you just can't get anymore.

I still think you did good. It may be time to roll up the sleeves and get out a screw driver and learn how to pull her down and clean her up!

Either way, you did good...I would love to have that M90

THANKS CHRIS!!! I have a beat up M70 this box reminds me of. And it just does scare me. I remember when these M90s were going for sky high prices a while back. I seriously never thought I'd get my hands on one. So, I do feel VERY LUCKY!

I actually took the back off and got kinda scared. I'm not afraid of getting dirty. HAHAHA!!!

That's for sure. But I am worried about making it worse. In either case, I do need to wait at least until summer to even THINK of doing anything with it. School starts up again in April and I need to chillax a bit before the mayhem again (and get this house whipped back into SHAPE, TOO!!!)

Well, hopefully its ok and some switch cleaning may help. We have a few members that help for free a lot of the time.

Ill be the first to donate: 1 M90 color matched aresol spray paint. Check out Jimmy's M90 restoration he used the same paint. All yours if you want it.

Doesn't look too bad after all

Once those stickers are peeled off, that IS a shelf queen, I am sure

I didn't read the whole thread yet but a stuck phono/line in switch can usually be made functional with some contact spray (if someone else hasn't said it already).

the M90 is the king of them all, no matter what  The absolute best sounding one piecer boombox EVER made!

Congratulations, Holly! :breakdance:

Looks fine to me! They really do sound good. I believe the VU's match the incoming signal not the volume on the M-90. Congratulations, good grab!

Yeah if the meters are true VU meters, then they will always act the same no matter what you do with the volume knob. Which is the way I like it.

And you actually lucked out by having those stickers on there. The chrome has been protected for years!

:agree:
It looks like if you take the speaker grills off, you could soak them in luke warm soapy water and those stickers would peel right off. AND we have a mmber who make the top trip aluminum part, so you can replace that dented one

YOU CAN DO IT HOLLY!

Her top trim really isn't dented, it just looks like it needs to be polished up. Even a little dented OG top trim is better than an aftermarket one  . It's character ;-)
