I hope to put my skills to use repairing the gnarled bottom corners of my M71. I've been calling all morning trying to locate a place that can do gold chrome or something like it, and no luck so far. Seems like only normal chrome at the moment.
eric

Not sure the gold chrome look you are going for, but I can gold plate any part that has been chromed.. I own a gold plating machine.. I can dig up some pics if you want..

Oh yeah? Well, most of the pieces are chromed, and I can get the rest chromed locally so that you could gold plate them. Man! I'm really glad you responded! Pm me rough pricing for the service if you don't mind.
Thanks,
Eric

The headlight bezels and other trim on my buddies Cadillac were gold plated, poor lighting and cell phone quality don't help I know.. but you can see the difference between that and the chrome bumpers.. Let me know which pieces you are interested in doing, and I'll see if I can help!

Nice job on the caddy man! I will need you to plate all switches, knobs, and the 2 speaker rings from my m71. I also want the handle ends plated but they need re chromic first so I'll try to get that done before sending out. All but the handle ends are plastic; is that ok for you? They will all arrive chrome plated.

Thanks, I did the hydraulic suspension and custom paint job on it as well.. :-D
I will use one of my Lasonic chrome speaker trims as a practice piece before I give the green light, I'll make sure it gets a good bond on the plastic-chromed parts!

This is a very interesting thread. I'm thinking the same thing for my ConionTC999. The Champagne color with Gold accents. Lots of great talent and skill here . Maybe I can get it to look like this again

Well, you can see how my M71 turns out, and if you like you know which memebrs to call for  . I have found other people who can do the jobs i need, but I prefer to get help from the guys here if they can do it. It will only strengthen the ties.

Oh Shizzle! You want a battle? Think you'll have the meaner M71 after restoring? Well, it's ON now! :ninja:

I haven't posted anything lately because my case is just sitting, waiting for primer. I bondo'd the small chipped areas and sanded it, but I need to go to Walmart and get some supplies to clean it before primer. Then I'll post pics of that, plus the super shiny powdercoated grills I got from the FUZ!
Until then, we can bask in the glow that is his restoration thread

Makes you wonder who thinks to themselves "Yeah, a gold plated turd, that's what I'm missing!"
