Awesome.... and an epic under-the-sheets pic at the end! LOL!

It's refreshing to read that good people (not on this forum) and good boxes are still out there! Faith in humanity restored. :)

Congrats Howie1976 you may have scored the crown jewel of all C-100s.

You are lucky because now you have the Boombox, box, styro foam, decals etc...

Before I forget that was a very nice gesture the seller "Bob" did for you!!!

:w00t: Even though I was one of the guys to hear about this deal going on first hand, the story still amazes me. Howie, it couldn't have gone to a better dude! DIBS! Lol. I can't wait to see this thing in person  Story of the year! AND that last picture still cracks me up  Priceless

Amazing story! Especially after having met Howie in person yesterday I can say it went to the right guy! So glad that resellers did not get a hold of it and put it on eBay. This thing is a true museum piece. Congrats and enjoy it!

Looks like David E Rivera just did the same thing on our sisters page Facebook.

I too, was excited when Howie filled Me in on the big secret. He ran this by me, asking what he should do. Without hesitation, I urged him to go for it (as I'm sure other did). I could only be truly happy for Howie, not a jealous bone in my body. What a super story, and fun ending. Bob is one cool dude. He should come see it on display in Vegas. Lined up with all the other boxes. :-D

This is one of the most insane stories we have seen posted. I got hourly updates through the whole thing. I told Howie, I spent hours trying to think of something, ANYTHING that you could buy today that is GUARANTEED to go up in value. Gold, NOPE, Cars, NOPE, fark real estate! This, is a SOLID investment!

So cool that it all went down as planned!

If this doesn't give you hope that YOUR DREAM is still out there, I don;t know what will.

Man, not much to say but congrats. This is one of those stories you dream about all the time about finding a radio brand new in a box untouched. A sitting time capsule. Sweet.

I'm very happy for you to get such and awesome box. Also a fun and heartwarming storey. You made my day with that last picture. I got a huge kick out of it! Take care of it and enjoy!

That was a pretty cool story.

Yes there are still people like that, and they're not all old. I'm only 47 and we do business that way in our company and it always pays us back in spades.

In all of the years I have been collecting I have not heard or seen a story or find to top this one!!!!
You might have to get the specs for that speaker advertisement to a printer for reproduction. It is the first one I have ever seen in a clear enough picture to make out.
I'm sure many would love to have a repro for thier prized possession. Me included.

So glad to hear that there are more people like Bob out there in this world. Best of luck to you and your business.

Thanks for all the love. I know it was a long read but I'm a guy that's into details and couldn't write the story without leaving anything out.

And yes, I'm currently looking into finding a way to duplicate the advertisement cling. But it's easier said than done.
