lol how great is that I had a turbo bass when I was young! those are nice radio. Thanks to you now I can find the exact model it was a AW-7590. Those boombox can play rock that is for sure! I have been using mine to listen to smashing pumpkins countless hours ! Great listenability as I recall.

I will find one and tell you my opinion how it compares with other suggested 3-pieces beasts.

The JVC PCX series come quite cheap and have decent sound but not super loud.
There's a Sharp GX-600 series that kicks but I think it's a 610 or 810 and it sounds fantastic and these you can get quite cheap!! These are your under 100 budget.😎

Yes many wrote the JVC PC series are great but I wonder how strange it is that the selling prices go from $100 to $1000 for the particular model PC-55. If anyone have one maybe explain why?

there is a sellerasking the big price near 1k
and 3 others are above $500

Hi,I'm talking about the PC-X series, big difference from the true PC series, these are older and much more powerful and sought after.

BTW,if these are ongoing auctions and they are not Buy It Now sales, you should delete these links as this is against Boomboxery rules.Sorry but I had to bring that up.

One person purchased one for a high price a few months ago, so every seller thinks they can get the same price. It won't happen. By the way, those JVC's get smoked by a Telefunken Studio 1.

The jvc pc55 is very disappointing it's very bass shy and is only any good if you change the speakers...a dt680 although not quite as loud as the pc55 has a much warmer deeper bass, Reli is bang on, a telefunken studio 1 will smoke a pc55..and the pc55 is a personal grail of mine

[attachment=28511:turbo_bass_generator_aw2694_1696214.jpg cant believe ive reccomended this but dont knock till youve tried it....the bass is phenomenal....no great shakes compared to a kaboom but much better than other nineties eggy offerings  the dt680 was also a great nineties box,not sure how budget concious they are though....last time i checked they were still costing very good money  exellent choice on the d8614 for eighties boxes az bro, always a good contender.aiwa 600s seem exellent and modestly inexpensive too, just try finding one for sale ;-)

Well forget about it. Once you have taste the superior bass of the DT680 or the full richer sound with nice mids and highs of the JVC PC-55, that turbo bass from Magnavox belongs to a more lightweight division. Doesn't sound bad at all, but it's really is just another boombox, it has an interesting low volume sound, definitely lacks loudness. Everyone should pass on that one. There is much better.

I don't spend much on mine. I won't and I can't but if you are willing to look you can find a lot for next to nothing.

I can only talk about the boxes I have owned.
I keep buying cheap finds at garage sales and recycling shops and keep them for a while and sell them on.
Not much space to store or display big boomboxes as I live in my mobile home.
Probably the boomiest box I have owned is Hitachi 3D7. Year ago I strapped it to my 3-wheel kick scooter and cruised the Nelson City on NY party.
It was great help to part the crowds as everybody heard and saw me coming. I had my Thai made boombox LED sign flashing in sync with music. Mobile disco
