Eee, Ta! I'll make fresh start in the morning. Thing is, I think I've also caught a bug of some kind 'cos..............unusually for me, I'm spending an awful lot of time on eBay looking at tempting boom boxes!

Oh dear...its a slippery slope...I started the same way and now I'm at about 40 of them...all working and on display or in use though. And I'm restrained compared to many here lol

Great job done another one saved🤩, the black paint from the grils you used is glossy? I want to paint my silver gf8989 grils to.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Yes, the black paint is gloss as I thought it would give the grills a bit of a 'lift' as the cones are now black. For some time I've had a minty set of grills in the original matt black so it'll be a toss up which black finish will prevail but, as the originals were dented & bent and are not perfectly reshaped despite my best efforts, the jury is out. My instinct tells me remain true & faithful by maintaining the original matt black finish.
