The Amazon one I use has no facility for USB because there's no battery to charge, its regulator chip provides the receiver with the correct supply from an input anywhere between 3v and 18v.
The one downside is that there are boxes where fitting this type in a small stowage compartment wouldn't be possible as it's quite large. That said; it does go in the lead storage compartments on both my Hitachi 3D and the Philips 774. In the Philips, the mains lead still fits in there with the BT receiver and the 5 pin DIN plug comes through the Philips' mains lead exit hole and reaches to the (DIN) line in socket on the side of the box. I might try one of the smaller ones in one of my more cramped radios.
