Great photos of what appeared to be an excellent event.
Big ups to you guys and thanks for sharing your good times with us.
BTW I am in love with that Sony with the Lasonic woofers. I bet it sounds real good.
Big dibs on that one!!!

Thanks man. I was bummed I missed you last time in Chinatown, but it was just too damn hot

When we figure out a good time to go to Venice, I will get my wife to go. She will love seeing the little man!

Our West Coast Crew is growing. All good guys.

Where are you located?

I'll tell ya man, I had a really odd moment standing there towards the end. All 4 of us lined up, people taking pictures, asking to pose with us, a real serious "Red Carpet" moment. A guy came up to me, went right into his "I used to have one" story and he talked about how when he was a kid (he was 45 years old btw) how people used to dog him in the early 80's for being white, but listening to Hip Hop and break dancing and having a radio with him everywhere he went and how proud he was to see the culture right before his eyes and how far it has come.

Right then and there I looked out at the crowd, all mixed, people from all walks of life, backgrounds, race, whatever...just a mix. With all the things happening in the US and around the world, all the fighting about race, religion, politics and money, I just stood there for a second and took it all in. RIGHT THERE...No one caring about those things. Everyone together for the love of the scene, the love of music, the love of personal style, the love of radio's.

For a few seconds I really zoned out, like standing in silence among all the noise.

It just made me realize, we don't need politicians to tell us, or racial leaders to tell us, or celebrities to tell us, or the news outlets to tell us. WE DECIDE! We treat ourselves with respect. We are good when the world is bad.

THIS IS WHAT SHARING MUSIC DOES! THIS IS WHAT BOOMBOXES BRING TO THE WORLD

DAMMMM Chris that was DEEP!! :angelic: Like pure poetry! NUFF said my brutha :chris920:

That was beautiful Chris, and it's all true, so true. That mix of nostalgia and love of music is a strong unifying force, it cuts deep throughout us all. The thrill I get from seeing others light up as I walk by makes it all worth it. I've seen that involuntary reaction, that was a good description of it :-) One girl just outright started dancing :-)

Yep, that is a great feeling, making girls dance. The very reason I bought a radio back in the day.

It's just such a trip to see how the world went from "Musical Extroverts" to "Everything Introverts" and they don't even realize it UNTIL you give them LOUD music that EVERYONE hears at the same time.

I grew up listening to Heavy Metal, performing Heavy Metal and all of that scene. But the Hip Hop scene and the Heavy Metal scene are very much the same in the fact that there is so much respect and truth to it. In both, people are talking from the soul and relating to each other through it.

It's funny, my wife was tripping when I told her how far away I had to park and that I was walking around trying to find the entrance, through alleyways. She asked me "Were you with your crew?" I said "No". She says, "You were walking around downtown Los Angeles by yourself with a $1,000 radio????". I said "Yeah". SHe says "YOU'RE CRAZY".

I thought that was funny...till I get shot

I LOVE LA :-D . When i was down there 2 years ago i didn't want to leave...i found everyone super nice and friendly...and everyone got along well with everyone. When i was down on the strip at Santa Monica beach...i hung out with all the independent rap guys selling their cd's...and i hung out with the homeless for the rest of the day as they all have vending spots on the strip trying to make a buck. I even had a mexican "loco" gangbanger come up to me and say "Yo...i love yo shoes essaye"...i thought he may try and rob me but we ended up rapping for at least 45 minutes while he drank his big king can of beer in a brown bag  After that afternoon i took a drive up to Chris's house to meet with him...it was freaken WINTER where he lived but we had a great time

I keep coming back to look at the pics from this event...i love seeing pics of everyone together with their boxes, kids, etc, it's such a positive energy...i'm lucky enough to have a friend here where i live who likes to still go out Boomboxin' in the streets

I found this guy on Instagram that does watercolor paintings. (I'm assuming he takes the pics himself then paints em) Anyways I thought it was kinda cool and different. Its of myself, and members fresh produce, and MacDaddyFreshness at the Beat swapmeet last Sunday. ;-)

I know man bummer :-( Maybe it was too much work to capture all the BLING ;-)

I contacted him and he actually does take the random pictures of people himself, and then paints his sketches in water color, then sells his artwork on Etsy.

He replied to me saying what a trip it was that I knew the 3 guys in the painting, I responded and told him I AM one of the guys in the painting Lol
