In terms of collectors losing interest, in my case, I've got (almost)every boombox I wanted. So I'm not actively buying or looking. However, I do notice there are more boomboxes in media. More t-shirts, movies, and TV-Commercials. Just saw a Sanyo C series? in a bread commercial, and it's pretty prominent in the commercial. So maybe there is more interest developing in the general public?

:agree: Boomboxes are showing up on TV and in fashion quite a bit. That's been going on for a few years now, too... Not really showing any signs of letting up much, either.

And if you really think about it.... what are the coolest retro culturally-identifiable "things" out there, especially that mark some kind of association with the 80's????

Other than boomboxes (and walkans) what is there?

Big hair & mullets?
Leg warmers
Spandex
Members Only jackets
Sweat & Wristbands (more of a 70's thing, I think)

Very true ^^^^^^^^^

Not much else worth collecting from the 80's that bring the same joy as a big fat boombox does  .
