I used to have an issue with mine where I'd plug in the adapter and the blue light would flash. Next day when a steady light was expected I'd go in and find the light still flashing. If I wiggled the plug at the box the light would flicker, go off and wiggle more it would flash. Sometimes it would charge sometimes not.

Ended up finding out that the tiny metal leg on the adapter side was not making great contact with the Bumpboxx's center leg in the charge port. So with the adapter unplugged (so as not to short it out) I used a small needle and pick to bend the center tap terminal inwards slightly to apply more tension on the center post in the charging port.

Walla! Charges every time now with no bad connections. Also as a hint. If the battery is receiving charge while the light is blinking a faint hum will be heard from the power brick with your ear on it. If the brick doesn't get warm and/or you do not hear a light hum from the adapter (regardless whether the blue light is blinking on the box) it's not charging.

Hope this helps.

I don't have my meter to check this thing out but the charger and battery light are acting normal. Blue light blinking when I first plug in the charger, but the blue light goes solid in just a few minutes.

Yesterday I sat down and had some BT streaming at 1/8 volume. The unit turns off and powers itself back on immediately with setting set to 'LINE', then it turns back off and powers back on over and over until I turn the power switch off. Plug in the charger again, blinks for a few minutes then back to solid blue light.

Not sure what's up with it.

It is a joy to take this out and share. Sometimes I do run into a negative-nancy but it won't stop me.

With something that loud and portable, I'd be tempted to stash it in the woods at night and play creepy noises to freak out the other campers... haha

It sounds more like a battery issue. The charging system is only looking at the voltage to determine the state of charge. A battery can fail in such a way where the voltage is good but the Amperage is low.

Gave it a good run this weekend. Plugged in the charger for about an hour before using. Played about 4 songs and everything went distorted and the system turned off then on, then off, then on, cycling through on and off.

Bumpboxx rep is taking care of me and having me try a new charger and battery.

Thanks guys. I will try one thing at a time so I know what the real problem was.

You know, while it sucks to have these problems, it's awesome that the company stands behind the product and is willing to offer possible solutions. Seems like they're willing to learn and advance for future products. If that's truly the case, it's impressive.

When we had some political rallies/protests earlier this month I sort of wish I still had mine, the opposition wouldn't have had a chance.

It's great Bumpboxx are looking after you. It sounds like they are having issues with the chargers. It's less likely the battery was originally at fault. The battery, now that it's been run flat so many times, probably needs replacing now anyway.

I just blew out my bumpboxx with a static shock to the control panel when going to turn up the volume..... damn

I'm just loosing this battle.
Wow blu!!! Good news is they offer a one year warranty. Send that puppy in for a swap. Maybe you can get a custom box for your troubles.

I listed all of these recent issues in my YouTube Review video. My radio reception is also hideous. I was one of the very first to purchase so I paid up there for it. Hope they can offer me a retro fit kit to help me out as well. Mine was so early in production that there isn't even a serial number :-)
I was also the first to find out it has the ability to record from the radio and line in onto USB or SD. These guys do respond and are willing to chat about the product and help if needed so that's great.

One thing I would like to add is one day when playing my Bumpboxx the left channel cut out. I switched off the box and turned it back on. Been working fine ever since. This got me wondering. I am willing to bet that the audio chip in this thing is stereo capable it's just being fed mono signal. hmmm. Wish it was in stereo.

So yeah. Two biggest concerns at this point for me. No Stereo option and poor FM reception. Otherwise Love mine :-)
I also had really horrible reception from the FM tuner when I first got my Bumpboxx. I tried the way blu did it by attaching the wire to the handle bolt and got nothing but solid static. So I decided to drill a 3/32 hole right under the top metal corner on my SE ran the wire through (after some tedious time finding the hole) screwed the corner back on to hide the wire from showing and viola at least 20 of 30 stations come in crystal clear.
