Anyone purchase the BUMPBOXX?

Now after hearing the review from Melly I have to get one!! I know he has demanding standards and taste!
Big question is:Hiow much?! I need to get one by the end of the year!!

I feel the same way. Mel has had all the top end boxes, been in the game a very long time. If he says if CRUSHES, it CRUSHES!

Just couldnt get past the looks.. reminds me too much of a "cartoony-version" of a classic boombox, like a gigantic boombox pencil sharpener..

A Bumpboxx shipped to me in Oz would cost $935 AUD!!! - unfortunately, it's not affordable for a family man with an angry wife who does the accounts!!

Keep building those boxes hardmen, they're awesome!!!

I asked Rob if there are plans for selling them in Europe, wonder if they will make it down under?

Didn't they sell the Lasonic i931 in New Zealand and Australia when they first came out?

I think that this whole wave of new blasters....The Bumpboxx, DJ Tech, Aiwa Exos, DiamondBoxx plus others not mentioned and much of the wave of resurgence can be traced back to the Lasonic i931. That was the first "Traditional" recreation of a boombox. Prior to that was the Altec Lansing "alarm clock" looking thing and a few other attempts. Then the Lasonic i931 hit the ground running to mixed feelings. But, IMHO, it paved the way for the market to open back up leading all the way to the Bumpboxx.

Very possible. Maybe it not exactly paved the way, but cleared a trail. Definitely could have given the idea to recreate something.

I was of that mindset as well, JC. But, once Mel did his thorough testing with it, I sort of wanted one, but yeah, it just looks sort of boring.
I mentioned this on the facebook version of this thread, and Rob jumped right in and said a kit to solve this would be available eventually. Even some knobs! Blue one arrives tomorrow.

This thing is a BEAST! Honesty i didn't expect it to sound so good.
The BASS had my house rocking! I was waiting for the police to show up

I was just thinking of this yesterday, Steve.. Just like when we were all walking down the strip in Vegas..sure, we thought we looked kool with our classic blasters..but,YOU were the one beating down the block with your AIWA Exos!
It was dark out, and you could've been carrying an egg and it wouldn't have mattered! Just goes to show looks aren't always top priority.. Like I said in previous post, Bumpboxx would be great for rockin the night!

Haha, What up James! Man you heard the AIWA for yourself, and you know how nice it sounds indoors, AND out on the street, so I could only imagine the sound coming from not one, but TWO 10 inch woofers, as compared to the AIWA's one 6 1/2 inch woofer! I can't wait to hear Melvins
