i recently saw a group of Sonys on Ebay going for 7 bucks a pop.
almost no takers.
then it occurred to me, I never see many Sonys on either site.
My first Boomer was a Sony, I had nothing to compare the sound to.
Does anyone out there collect Sony?
{I of-course grabbed two of them. "like new condition".
7 bucks each 2 dollar shipping. I figured what the hay.}

hey OSS - lots of members here collect sonys --

last night i went for some big $$ on an ebay CFS-F5
and LOST IT :'-( :'-( :thumbsdown:

member monchito has a complete collection of
the high end sony series- :-) :-)

there might have been less sonys than pannys and JVC
on the market way back then --

Yes, I collect Sony boomboxes.

Mostly CFD- models, but have one CFM- model in my collection.

I have had a few sony most have had issues though, the worst sounding one was that big 3 peice that folds into a breifcase it sounded terrible the best ones are the fh range but unfortunately most of them dont take batts.

I have the cfd k10 and the cfd 770 the 770 all works too.

I've got a CFS-1200, CFS- F11, CFS-66 and a Zilba'p CFS-V8... Not that I'm going out of my way to collect 'em, but there are probably 2 or 3 other Sony's I'd consider buying. :yes: ;-) :-D

I want an old one like my brother had back in 80-81'.
I'd like an older wicked one to someday-big one.
They're good solid boomboxes.

I have the Sony's CFS-9000, ZX7, F-5, F-7, CFS-1000, CFS-88, CFS-77, And a few others can't recall :-D .

If you're talking about the sexy :cool: silver Sony at the top of the page, naw, that's not it. The Sony ZILBA'P CFS-V8:

It's also called a CFS-855 and CFS-V980. ;-)

It's not spectacular sounding but sounds good to me. In fact, it's the best sounding Sony I have and possibly the 3rd best sounding box I have overall. :yes: It's sound is more balanced... nothing pops out at you, so it doesn't have the highs of a top shelf Toshiba or Hitachi. It's bass is no big deal either, but like I said, I like it. :-)
