To pledge money towards an event that you aren't even going to attend, just so we all can have a great experience says volumes about the kind of guy you are but I wouldn't feel right taking money from you under these circumstances. I really hope you can understand and I hope my response isn't insulting. I just believe that there are enough of us going that we should be able to take care of this. What about an engineers fee though? I've heard cases where hotels tack that onto the bill at the last minute. Like they say, "Oh, you needed power? Well we need to add engineer support to your bill"

Yeah I'm pretty sure that if you tell them you're going to use a bunch of power strips, they'll say you need an engineer to come by and "set it up" for an extra fee. I think it's some union rules bullcrap.

This is a pretty good idea. It's looking more like I won't be going due to some recent developments (good ones mostly). I'm still trying to figure it out though.

But if you guys actually are able to do this, I'll donate $50 towards it, even if I'm not going. For sure. Just PM me when it comes time to collect.
