i am not surpised that the box sounds cool in a wood enclosure.
every wooden radio i own sounds really great in a wooden enclosure.
it adds it own character to the sound i think.
ira i bet you could buld a pretty awesome boombox ira. it would take a bit of time but i dont think it would be very hard for you to do it.
a car deck and some speakers antenna battery.
some wiring. could be really amazing.
