We had a great time at the Beat Swap. Darkside Will and I got there around 11am and we sourced us a location and set up shop blastin' the crowd and with in 5 minutes we were asked to turn down!

So we moved outside the event to a sidewalk location

As always, people flocked to the boxes, including this film crew. Dr DER offered up the Big Rexcel and these guys were all smiles!

There was a big dance competition as well...

We had a great time for sure

I'll tell you what never gets old and is probably my favorite part of these get together's is the people that randomly walk up and say "That makes me remember when I...." or "I used too...." or the classic "I had that same radio....".

These people walk up and they only have 40 seconds to a minute to lay it all out. You can see their eyes rolling over like the wheels of a slot machine as the flood of memories that they haven't thought of in 30 years rolls by and they stumble over their words. In a short 1 minute they remember and tell their story of how they got their radio, how they used to dance and what music they listened too and where they were at back in the day before they shake your hand and continue on to their destination. It's an amazing thing to watch over and over through out the day.

Will and I met a man from West Africa who stopped and told us that he was 44 years old and how he had a radio and how hard it was to get mixed tapes and video in his region to learn break dancing moves in the early 1980's. But they did it! I find it all so fascinating.

Big thanks to DarkSideWill, Dr DER and SLO for hanging out and making it a great day!

More BLASTER VISION to follow!

It was a great time! It was great to meet Slo and Dr DER, great guy's! I love the reaction and stories from the people from all walks of life as they are quickly taken back to their childhoods growing up in the late 70s through the 80s.

Well here is a video from Beat Swap of us hanging out and walking around.
