Just got my second and in better shape one today!!!! WoW, looks to have after market woofers in it, but man can this baby crank!!! So clean and goes pretty loud for a mid-size box!!

It is in great shape with minimal marks on it, can't wait to give it a thourough cleaning and maybe find some "more like OEM" woofers!! :yes: :yes: :yes: :yes:

Very happy!!! Haven't been this happy about a box since I got my C100!!!!!

and yup - the 880 is not the type of box you put up next to your c100f --
which is both ghetto and a LOUD ghettoblaster !!!

but they sure are NICE to hear :-) :-) :-)

Exactly, two different classes all together, but very very impressive for a box this size... although it does way a ton!!!

There has been some discussion about 880 woofers and it appears there may have been two different woofers used. Not sure what the rhyme or reason is, I have two 880's both with different woofers.

Without batteries Tony! I think it is pretty darn solid!! Has a nice heavy weight to it and can tell its constructed great! The tuner dial must be sealed real well also, outta the two I have they are really clean behind the glass, unlike the other radios that get dusty, trapped bugs, etc.

Very impressed with these radios, no wonder they are a must have! :yes:

Those look like the ones in my '81 model, what I'll do is refoam those and replace the red surround woofer in the '82 model.

I am 99.9 sure these are not original, they look outta place. :yes:

Most definitely, is it hard to work on a 880, just need to clean it up, everything works right now...wanna get behind the grille and clean the chrome and blue face up..

Unfortunately for you no, both sets have been all black with the chrome dust cap. It's still possible they are the correct drivers that were refoamed with red surrounds.

i refoamed the woofers for skippy's 880 ,those were original woofers and are very heavy and well made ,they also had a vent hole in the back plate of the magnet.

Yeah I'll post pic as soon as battery is charged, but these are so Jensen looking car speakers, sad thing is THEY ROCK!! :lol:

I need to have some refoamed, I know you are super busy though too. Where do you buy the kits from and what size? Thanks Floyd.
