Thanks man. I couldn't think of any other way to make it right and strong enough. I was lucky that the screw post was all in tact and just missing the last 3/16". With the spacer and the longer screws it was almost meant to be! I thought about building up the posts but it wouldn't be anywhere near as strong as it is now.
It hammers almost as good as a Rising 20/20. The separate bass/treble and loudness switch helps anyone dial in the sound just the way they like it. I find myself at full treble and loudness on and choking the bass back to about 75% to minimize distortion. It does lack a good solid hitting bass. A M70 is twice the box a Bolt Box will ever be BUT the bolt box has a beauty like no other. I like it even with the lower end build quality but that also makes it easier to work on.
My 2 yr old throwing a temper tantrum, I'm trying to ignore him and I look over to see his grubby little finger in my radio. Little **** head. Damn it.
I did grab his hand and yelled, do you want to keep that finger!?!? Hahaha what a little ****. Kids will make your worst days turn to your best and make your best days the worst!!
Truly excellent restoration! I like how you made the antenna mounts. I've done a few of my own where the originals have been completely busted off, or incompatible with replacement antennas. It's so satisfying to see the fresh, shiny antenna in its clip with a clean surrounding case...
