Success story! That little screen looks cool, maybe a stupid question but what does the DRPS-function do?

The acronym's actual definition escapes me at the moment but it's the track search feature. You select the number track you want and it counts the blank spots between tracks and plays when it gets to the number you selected. This kind of feaure has a billion different name variations based on the manfacturer.

The DRPS one on Hitachi's with the LED counter is my favourite though!

Wow thats a pretty sweet feature! Pretty sophisticated too, isn't the 8180 from like 79? What about those cute tiny tweeters right on the silver panel, do they actually do anything?

I LOVE the gimmickery of those track seeking featres, they're always killer!

Those things are the microphones, but the highs on her are very nice with the more obvious tweeters.

I'm now also the proud owner of a 8180! Its actually 8180e with a lighter grey around the speakers. I think I like the look of yours a little better, that being said I absolutely love mine!

Man do I wish I had your boombox repairing skills though! I've never replaced belts before and I'm scared shitless putting her under the knife (more like phillips screwdriver)!
