Was there a reserve on the auction? Otherwise I don't see how that bidder could have bid himself up to $500. :hmmm:

Seems like a top example of an M70 but $500 that early in the auction certainly would make you think something isn't right, hard to tell from our perspective. :hmmm:

That's what I was thinking too. Either way, that b***r bidder won't be paying for it.

It does not make sense unless there was a reserve and the high bidder was trying to find it.

It is a very clean M70, looks brand new honestly...... Even if that bidder was trying to find the reserve we wouldn't be able to see the amounts he bid up to, right?

Yes we would. From the looks of it, the $500 was the reserve price, so every other bid he placed is now visible.

Yikes...I saw that when it was $20 and wondered when it would get bid up. I sold a mint one on ebay a few months ago, and it didn't hit the price this one's at now.

as good as the m70 is i wouldn't pay $500.00 even if it was flawless ,hell thats a down payment on an m90 or you could buy a lot of nice boxes with $500.00.

There was a reserve -- I remember when it first came up -- I doubt it is a scam.
You all must have a short memory. It wasn't all that long ago that a "mint" M70 sold for over $900 although that one did have the carton.
This one does apear to be an excellent example.
I understand a lot of you guys wouldn't pay nearly that much for an M70. But then again, a lot of folks think $300 if far too much to pay for an M90 too.

if $300.00 is too much for an m90 then $500.00 for an m70 is insane , but if people can pay $1500.00 for a corn flake shaped like the state of idaho anything is possible  .

Very true. Price isn't always logical and frequently makes no sense and defies reason. Yet the forces of supply and demand is as predictable as can be.

Just a few days ago, I was amongst the cheap scrooges poking fun and ridicule at the knuckleheads that bid up and paid $5000 for a red football shaped table radio. But those guys are probably looking at us saying us ignorant pea-brains don't know what we missed out on.
